Whirlpool agreed to pay an $11.5 million civil fine to resolve charges by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission that it knowingly failed to immediately report some of its electric radiant heat cooktops posed burn and fire hazards.
The settlement covers 17 models of cooktops under the JennAir, KitchenAid and Whirlpool brands.
