Powered by the proprietary TrueMesh technology, these routers leverage multiple access points to identify optimal connections and deliver lightning quick speeds. Eero currently comes in four versions—Eero 6, Eero 6+, Eero Pro 6, and Eero Pro 6E. (The pricey Eero Max 7 was just announced but is not yet on sale.) The main difference between them is the speeds they support and the square footage they cover, which can be extended by adding an eero beacon.
The Eero 6 and Eero+ feature a dual-band connection while the Eero Pro 6 and Eero Pro 6E supports tri-band Wi-Fi. The Eero 6 supports router speeds up to 900Mbps to up to 1,500 square feet; the Eero 6+ supports speeds up to 1 gigabit and 1,500 square feet; the Eero Pro 6 supports gigabit speeds as well but can stretch up to 2,000 square feet; and the Eero Pro 6E supports network speeds up to 2.3Gbps in that same 2,000 square footage. If you buy one of the multi-packs, each device acts collectively as a hub for your network.
A companion app automatically pushes nightly security updates to keep your network safe. Through it, parents can also create profiles to set schedules and pause the internet on kids' phones and tablets.
