Jessica Hawkins has become the first woman in almost five years to test a Formula 1 car, completing 26 laps of the Hungaroring in Budapest for Aston Martin last Thursday. The former W Series racer, 28, alternated in the AMR21 car with test and reserve driver Felipe Drugovich. Hawkins, a former British Karting Champion, joined the Aston Martin F1 Team in 2021 as Driver Ambassador and her role within the team has since expanded. Before Hawkins, the most recent woman to test an F1 car was Colombia’s Tatiana Calderon with Sauber - now Alfa Romeo - at the Hermanos Rodriguez track in Mexico City in October 2018.

The fashion house announced the news on its social media channels, with a string of posts showcasing the five new products. This includes La Mousse Très Fondante foaming cleanser ($95), Le Lait Très Tendre moisturising milk ($115) and L'Eau Très Fraîche cleanser ($95). There are also two scented alcohol-free waters at $230 each, created by Dior’s famed perfume director Francis Kurkdjian – the man behind Baccarat Rouge 540. The scents are said to be reminiscent of "sweet childhood memories with light notes of fruit, pillowy cotton and velvety petal." "I think this is what’s missing the most in this market there’s a minority of brands making them for the little ones," one fan gushed, while another added: "Okay, but I need the bunny as well. The fashion house described the collection as "an ode to the first steps and emotions of little ones, which echoes the Baby Dior ready-to-wear creations. A constellation of skincare products for babies and children accompanies Bonne Étoile, the Baby Dior scented water." They continued: "Baby Dior scented water and skincare are a gentle reminder of sweet memories of early childhood, enveloping baby’s every waking moment in softness." Pigeons aren’t known for sparking social media frenzies, probably because most of us view them as annoying, flying rats. But one TikTok channel dedicated to the pavement-lurking birds has prompted a flutter of interest after it shared a pretty jaw-dropping video. The clip, which is accompanied by suitably jaunty music, shows a staggeringly proportioned pigeon, with a fit-to-busting chest, skinny white legs and giant feathers for claws, apparently. The man behind Pigeons TV posted the footage early last month and it has since racked up more than 18.6 million views and 1.6 million likes. And this Frankenstein’s Monster of a feathered friend is simply an example of one of the many varieties of pigeons that exist in the world. The English Pouter is believed to have originated in England more than 400 years ago as the result of cross-breeding among a number of other old pigeon types. It’s best known for its bulbous breast, which it can puff up and hold in position for hours on end, according to the AviCulture blog. Indeed, the bird is so famed for its interesting looks that Charles Darwin himself commented on its appearance in his 1868 book ‘The Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication’, branding it: “Perhaps the most distinct of all domesticated pigeons”. The Poulter’s full chest also apparently influenced fashion back in the early 20th Century, inspiring a “poulter pigeon’ dress”, which puffed above the waist. A voice note from Pete Davidson to animal rights group Peta has been leaked - and the comedian is furious that they made comments about his new dog. Davidson, who claims to be severely allergic to dogs, bought a Cavapoo for his family, after their two-year-old pooch died just a week prior. It prompted outrage from Peta, who slammed him for not adopting one instead. "I just want to let you know, I’m severely allergic to dogs so I have to get a specific breed", he scathed in the message.
