This is what the best dressed wore while performing their hearts out… Lizzo About Damn Time singer Lizzo went full rock and roll for her first look. She appeared on stage with long emerald green hair parted down the middle, futuristic sunglasses and a black leather jumpsuit with a skirt over the top and pink lace-up detailing, designed by Michael Ngo. She then changed into a shiny pink boiler suit and a black bedazzled baseball cap, ending with a final costume change in a gold draped dress and lace-up boots. Elton John Elton John walked out in a metallic gold suit for his ‘last ever UK show’, in front of a huge crowd at the Pyramid Stage. He kept the rest of the look simple, with a black shirt underneath and a pair of his trademark glasses. Lil Nas X Featuring extravagant costume changes, American rapper and singer Lil Nas X’s set truly stunned fans. One look was a gold plated top and white trousers with furry leg warmers, while his hair was braided back in cornrows and pulled into a kinky Afro textured ponytail. He then performed topless in a metallic blue skirt that had a bull at the centre, knee pads and another pair of furry leg warmers, accessorised with a spiked choker necklace in the same colour. Tilda Swinton Tilda Swinton joined composer and pianist Max Richter at Glastonbury in a sky blue suit with flared trousers – an outfit she’s previously worn before – with a white and black pinstriped shirt and gold tie. She paired the look with Ahlem Quai Branly sunglasses. Cate Blanchett Swinton wasn’t the only actor at Glastonbury – Cate Blanchett brought star power to the stage when joining US pop-rock duo Sparks for a performance of their recent track The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte. The Oscar-winning actor – who also features in the music video – danced onstage in a bright yellow suit with a black shirt underneath. Becky Hill On The Other Stage, singer Becky Hill wore a three piece sequinned co-ord set that included a smiley face jacket, bralette and mini skirt. She paired it with black knee-high boots, a gold body chain and hoop earrings. Sophie Ellis-Bextor The 44-year-old singer wowed fans on the Worthy Farm stage in a disco-inspired gold sequinned leotard embellished with plenty of tassels. She paired the outfit with baby pink strappy heels, pulling her hair back in a messy ponytail. Bellah R&B singer-songwriter Bellah made her Glastonbury debut in a red distressed co-ord jacket and mini pleated skater skirt, with leather shorts underneath and a bejewelled black mesh top. Jonnie Irwin has opened up about why he hasn’t told his three children that he has terminal cancer. The A Place in the Sun presenter, 49, publicly revealed his diagnosis in November 2022 after his lung cancer spread to his brain. However, his young sons, who he shares with wife Jessica Holmes, do not know that their father is dying. Irwin says it would be difficult for them to understand his situation at this age: his eldest son Rex is four-and-a-half, while twins Rafa and Cormac are turning three this month. In a new interview with Hello! magazine ahead of Father’s Day, Irwin said: “I keep being asked, ‘Are you going to tell them?’ but tell them what? “It would be horrible news that they’d have to get their heads around. And it would confuse the hell out of Rex – he’s got a shocking enough day coming. Let’s bury our heads in the sand for as long as possible.” In the meantime, Irwin and Holmes are trying to give their children a sense of normalcy by continuing to teach and play with them. Holmes described the presenter as a “great dad and a big kid himself”, adding: “All the boys gravitate to him when they want to show off and get his attention. They’re aware that Jonnie needs his rest and can’t always jump up and play football for hours, but they’re more than happy snuggled up on the sofa, watching a movie. “Story time is a big thing at bedtime and that is something I know Jonnie treasures with them.” In November, when Irwin first revealed his diagnosis, he said Rex “doesn’t need to know” about his illness yet. “We make fun of my hair – he calls it my ‘spiky head’ – but as far as he’s concerned, his dad is normal and why would I shatter that innocence?” Earlier this month, Irwin was admitted to hospital to be “monitored” as his treatment continues. He shared in an Instagram post that he was admitted to keep an eye on a “changeover in my pain management regime”. In an appearance on the OneChat podcast by insurer AIG Life, Irwin said he had been close to dying “at least twice”. “You lose your memory, you lose your patience. I have got a very short temper. It’s not made me a better person, that’s for sure,” he admitted. However, Irwin emphasised that he prefers to think of his situation as “living with cancer, rather than dying from cancer”. National Museums Scotland has acquired eight outfits from contemporary Highland dress designers in a bid to tell the story of tartan in the 21st century. They have been added to the national collection of Highland dress, which charts how it has evolved since the 17th century. The acquisitions mark the culmination of a five-year project supported by the William Grant Foundation. A new online hub is launching on Friday, offering detailed images and descriptions of the latest acquisitions along with three films featuring interviews with designers and makers. The collection now includes modern designers like Prickly Thistle and Acme Atelier. The foundation’s research fellow Rosie Waine said they show how Highland dress is being adapted to the modern day. Will Smith says a “mutiny” by his daughter, Willow Smith, is what first caused him to change his perspective of success. The Hollywood actor has been stepping back into the spotlight following his infamous outburst at the 2022 Oscars, where he slapped Chris Rock on stage after the comedian made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. In an interview with fellow actor and comedian Kevin Hart, on his Peacock show Hart to Hart, Smith spoke about the moment his family rose to fame in 2010. While Smith had enjoyed his own success from 1999 thanks to NBC’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Willow and his son Jada achieved their own fame in the early Noughties. Musician Willow, 22, released her debut single “Whip My Hair” in 2010, breaking into the UK and US charts when she was just nine years old. Meanwhile Jaden, a rapper and actor, starred opposite Jackie Chan and Taraji P Henson in The Karate Kid that same year, when he was 11. “2010 was like the greatest year as an artist, as a parent,” Smith told Hart, Metro reports. “Karate Kid came out in June and ‘Whip My Hair’ came out in October. I’m building this dream of a family I’ve had in my mind. I’m going to do it better than my father did it. We’ve talked about it, my father was abusive.” Smith seemed to imply that he was too hard on his family while trying to achieve the vision he had of a successful family. “‘No one wanted to be in a platoon,” he said. “Willow was the first one to begin the mutiny and it was my first realisation that success and money don’t mean happiness. “Up until that point, I really believed that you could succeed your way – to a house and a family – and you could win your way to happiness.” In a 2022 interview with The Independent, Willow Smith revealed that her parents struggled to understand her while she was growing up, due to their different upbringings. Meanwhile Jaden, 25, asked to become emancipated – where a child is removed from the control of their parents or legal guardians – from his parents when he was a minor, aged 15. His request came after he starred opposite his father in the box-office disaster, After Earth, which was also panned by critics. In his 2021 memoir, Smith recalled the moment his “heart shattered” when Jaden asked to become emancipated. “And what was worse was that Jaden took the hit,” the Independence Day star wrote, adding: “Jaden had faithfully done everything that I’d instructed him to do, and I had coached him into the worst public mauling he’d ever experienced.” Jaden ultimately decided against pursuing emancipation, but moved out of his family home that year.
