Ryanair eyes Ukraine tourism after Russia’s war ends
Ryanair’s boss has pledged to “charge back into Ukraine” once commercial flying reopens and promised investment worth $3bn (£2.3bn) in the wartorn country. Michael O’Leary visited Kyiv on Thursday and said that he soon hoped to reconnect the country’s Lviv and Odesa airports with more than 20 European Union capital cities within eight weeks of the reopening of air space with around 600 weekly flights. “The fastest way to rebuild and restore the Ukrainian economy will be with low-fare air travel,” the chief executive said. “Ryanair intends to invest heavily in Ukraine and lead this aviation recovery by investing up to $3bn and basing up to 30 Boeing Max aircraft at Ukraine’s three main airports in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa. “Having previously also served Kharkiv and Kherson airports prior to the invasion, Ryanair will return to serving those airports too, as soon as the infrastructure has been restored.” He added that the company will employ hundreds of Ukrainian pilots, cabin crew and IT professionals, and we will look to create thousands of new jobs in aviation for Ukrainian citizens. It is hard to say when commercial flights will be possible to and from Ukraine with restrictions still in place due to the ongoing war with Russia. Ryanair held meetings in Kyiv’s Boryspil International Airport with representatives from Ukraine’s main airports, Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa. Mr O’Leary was joined by Boryspil airport chief executive Oleksiy Dubrevskyy and Ukraine’s communities minister Oleksandr Kubrakov. The latter man said the resumption of flights will be possible “as soon as the security situation allows”. “We are already working on solutions and investment plans to enable aircraft to fly up quickly,” he said. Ryanair noted the “excellent state” of the airport infrastructure after examining terminals, baggage claims and passenger check-ins. The company has said that in the first 12 months after the war, more than 5 million seats to and from Ukraine will be on offer with 10 million per year within five years. Woman with 'extreme' chest 'restricted from running' and 'can't go on rollercoasters'
A woman who has splashed out more than £29,000 ($38,000 USD) to “super size” her breasts says her chest is so large, she often wears three bras and can’t go on rollercoasters. Katy Ann had her first boob job when she was just 20 years old, going from a natural C to a double D cup. The model has since gone under the knife to expand her breasts three more times, as well as having two butt augmentations, skin-tightening surgery, and non-invasive cosmetic procedures such as Botox and lip fillers. But she’s not bothered about the costs, because she isn’t picking up the tab. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "My breasts cost $38,000 but I’ve spent around $100,000 on surgery in total – and a majority of it was funded by sugar daddies,” Katy Ann, who is an investor and is getting her real estate license, told NeedToKnow.co.uk. "If I have the time, money, and ambition to change my body, and I can safely do it – then why not? "I wasn’t born 'perfect' so thank goodness for gyms, hair stylists, nutritionists and surgeons. Despite loving her new look, Katy's extreme breasts do come with some challenges. She said: "Tops that aren’t made of spandex or a stretchy material are incredibly hard to fit properly into. "I just can’t walk into any lingerie store or section and buy bras. "There are a few shops that carry my size or I need to have custom-made bras/tops by a tailor. "My surgeon also restricted me from running. "My breast weighs well over 10 pounds – high-impact activities and weight will make my boobs super saggy. "When I do exercise, I will wear two bras and a sports bra for maximum support. "I’ve gone to 'all adults' pools and dealt with a lot of attention, good and bad, because of my body. "Also going on roller coasters is tricky. "The shoulder restraint squishes my enormous boobs and the few times I did go on a roller coaster there was an element of new excitement because I was worried the shoulder restraint didn’t lock properly." Despite these issues, Katy Ann says her look is worth the sacrifice. She said: "I understood going into this super busty lifestyle certain things and activities in my life would need to be modified, if not stopped. "That’s the way life is. "Sometimes you have to give other things up to get what you want." At this moment in time, she has no current plans to go under the knife again but “never say never”. Katy Ann, from Texas, US, added: "I’m happy… for now. “I never say never. "I make plans and God laughs, so who knows? "I could wake up tomorrow and start removing all my plastic surgery or I could go get more. "One thing I would like to point out is that yes, I am totally and completely aware that my breast augmentations are extreme. "This look is certainly an acquired aesthetic taste. "But with the advances of modern medicine, I can have a breast reduction anytime and not look so outlandish. “At this point in my life, I personally am enjoying them. "The day they bring more grief than joy is the day I’ll change them. “And if I do ever get rid of my implants, at least I won’t be paying for it myself.” Have your say in our news democracy. Maria Menounos welcomes first baby via surrogate after pancreatic cancer diagnosis
Maria Menounos and husband Keven Undergaro have welcomed their first baby via surrogate after a decade of fertility issues and Menounos’ battle with pancreatic cancer. On Wednesday (19 July), the 45-year-old journalist revealed to Us Weekly the name of their baby girl: Athena Alexandra. Their bundle of joy was born on 23 June in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, via surrogate. “It was the most special moment of my life,” Menounos recalled to the outlet. “The doctor literally grabbed her and hiked her onto me. I sat with her on my chest, and Keven and I kept looking at each other like, ‘Oh, my God.’ It was just pure joy.” “It was like Christmas morning times a million,” she said. Menounos announced she and her husband Undergaro, 55, were expecting their first child together in February. But just one month prior, she learned she had a 3.9cm mass on her pancreas, later confirmed to be a stage 2 neuroendocrine tumour. “Athena is our miracle baby,” Menounos said. “I’m so grateful for her.” Speaking to Us Weekly, the former E! News correspondent opened up about her 10-year-long fertility journey, and revealed the surprising celebrity who helped her find a surrogate. Menounos previously did three rounds of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatments before she opted to have a baby via surrogate. It wasn’t until her first surrogate fell through that her lawyer, Andrew Vorzimer – who Kim Kardashian had connected her to – put her in touch with a surrogate search service. “I give her so much credit,” Menounos said about Kim Kardashian. “She helped us get started and guided me through the fears and the process. She was the first to know we were pregnant! We were at a gala, and I couldn’t resist telling her. She’s such a chill, calm person. Anytime I had questions or needed advice, her responses were instant. I had really leaned on her a lot.” After her pancreatic cancer diagnosis, the TV presenter underwent surgery to remove the tumour on her pancreas, along with parts of her spleen, a fibroid, and 17 lymph nodes. Now, Menounos revealed that she feels “amazing” after surgery, which left her with a C-section scar, despite not delivering a baby on her own. “I’ve had a lot of low moments, so I’ve had a lot of practice in overcoming them,” she said, when asked how she managed to stay positive battling cancer while preparing for her baby girl. “You have to come out of the victim mentality.” “Everyone asks, ‘Why me?’ And my thing is, ‘Why not me?’ That helps me get out of things faster,” she continued. “I just beat this tumour because I found it early, and other people don’t, so I’m lucky. I try to focus on how I want to feel rather than the other stuff. It takes a minute; it’s not easy.” Not only has Maria Menounos battled – and survived – pancreatic cancer, but she previously underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour in 2017. That same year, she and her husband tied the knot after nearly 20 years of dating. Kendra Wilkinson ‘rushed to hospital’ after panic attack
Kendra Wilkinson was reportedly rushed to the emergency room after suffering a panic attack on 6 September. A spokesperson for the Girls Next Door alum told TMZ that Wilkinson had recently become overwhelmed in balancing her life, two kids, and her job in real estate. Wilkinson reportedly couldn’t sleep Tuesday night and the following day, she decided that going to the hospital was the best course of action. By the time she arrived at the hospital, an unidentified TMZ source alleged that Wilkinson was desperately pleading for someone to get her a doctor. The Independent has contacted Wilkinson’s representatives for comment. Earlier on Wednesday, Wilkinson had posted a selfie on her Instagram, writing: “Checking out the best Beverly Hills has to offer. Always on the look out for amazing properties for my clients.â ” The star’s most recent reality TV adventure has been Kendra Sells Hollywood, which chronicles the former Playboy playmate’s journey as she makes her foray into the luxury real estate business with the help of revered real estate power player, Douglas Elliman. Wilkinson has reportedly been learning from Elliman since 2021. In June of this year, the show released its second season on the streaming platform, Max. Throughout her hospital stint, her ex-husband Hank Baskett, 41, has reportedly stayed by her side. The couple share two children, Hank IV, 13, and Alijah Mary, 9. Wilkinson and the former NFL wide receiver married in 2009, but after nearly ten years of marriage, the pair filed for divorce. Combined with the end of her reality show Kendra On Top on E!, Wilkinson admitted on PodcastOne’s On Display with Melissa Gorga, that both endings “triggered [her] depression.” “I went through a divorce, lost everything I knew, which was my TV show. I had a TV show every year until my divorce,” she explained. “Then my divorce happened and all of a sudden, now I’m left with no marriage, I’m left with no show, I had to move into a little house – I didn’t understand what was going on and all of a sudden I had to do some intense healing.” Wilkinson told Real Housewives star Gorga that the end of her relationship began during a four-year period in which she said she “didn’t have fame”. She continued: “I didn’t have everything I knew for a really long time. I didn’t know who I was. I was so lost.” Wilkinson said that her kids were the ones to give her the push to “stay alive, to keep going, to drive them to hockey and basketball and smile and watch them do everything. They’re the ones who kept my heart beating.” Read More Sophie Turner seen partying in Birmingham as divorce from Joe Jonas confirmed Meghan Markle has ‘adorable’ reaction after Prince Harry takes a selfie at Beyoncé concert Why are we assuming Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are intellectually incompatible?
